Actually, I’d say latin americans have a harder time understanding other latin american accents than the spanish accent (castellano) You see, there are some countries especially in Central America that don’t pronounce a bunch of the consonants, aside from the dialect, they are very difficult to understand. Puerto Ricans have a very strange accent, but its actually easier to understand them than a Dominican, because Dominicans speak extremely fast and almost never pronounce some consonants like the letter “s”. Mexicans speak very clearly, they have a funny accent in my opinion because it kinda sounds like their singing sometimes, but they speak very clearly, on the other hand Venezuelans are another hard accent to understand when they speak fast, because they skip some consonants too. I believe the purest accent in spanish, with every consonant and vowel pronounced just as it should be, with no singing, is the higher class Ecuadorian accent, lower class Ecuadorians pronounce the double “r” like this “sh”, where carro (car) would be pronounced “casho” and perro (dog) would be pronounced “pesho”, but higher class Ecuadorians speak at a very good speed, where every word is well pronounced. Spaniards pronounce the “c+e,i” and “z” like “th” and sometimes the “s” like “sh”, but their accent is very clear and understandable in my opinion. See all items with this value
