Do native Spanish speakers have trouble with understanding Chilean Spanish? See all items with this value

Yes. I’ve been told that us Spaniards have a reputation of speaking one of the fastest Spanish and I can definitely see that. Chileans however will definitely give us a run for our money. And to top it off, they speak with a the really annoying tendency to chop/eat words and not pronounce parts of words and to an untrained ear, there does not appear to be any pattern as to which syllables they will or wont pronounce.
However, like with any other accent, it does become understandable after some time. It just takes ridiculously long to understand the Chilean speak. See all items with this value
