yeah, chileans do tend to speak fast and have a very distinct accent. i lived in chile for most of my life, and that's where i learned to speak spanish. years after i left whenever i speak in spanish with someone else from latin america they immediately recognize my accent as chilean. its very different from any other country's accent, i would attribute the development of a different way of speaking the same language to the separation created by the andes mountain range which secluded chile from the rest of latin america.
