wouldn’t recommend learning Dominican Spanish. I am a fluent speaker of Dominican Spanish and as my dear friend Milos Zorica said once, Dominican Spanish is amongst the most difficult to understand, as we speak fast, shorten the words and have a very different vocabulary.
In fact, even between Caribbean Spanish (Cuban, Dominican and Rican) speakers, you will notice strong differences.
