Yeah, Dominican accents (Caribbean accents in general, tbh) are CRAZY hard for me. It's just... Like... Half the word disappears! Always! Or maybe it doesn't, I wouldn't know, I can't keep up enough to figure out what word Dominicans are actually intending to say. Chile is also really hard, though, I will admit. They're quite impressively good at turning entire sentences into a single word, haha.

I lived in Bolivia for awhile and I don't know if it was just a specific regional thing or what, but the people where I was living really slurred everything together. It was insane. If you caught one of them while drunk... Hooooly shit. It's not like with Chileans, where the individual syllables are still there but slung together. It's like every consonant just... left the building. The native Spanish speakers I was with who weren't Bolivian couldn't even figure out what they said. Good news is that they'd also talk really slowly, haha. That was nice.

On the other hand: accents from Ecuador, Colombia, and Venezuela are all really easy to understand. They all seem to enunciate very well and speak just slow enough for me to catch everything.
