It requires some effort because they [Chileans] tend to speak faster than most spanish speakers and for their many idioms (wich vary from region to region so its not exlusive from chileans but this can also lead to misconceptions ) . So aside of requiring the other person to speak slower and explain some of the words there is no major trouble . And you can get used to both things with time .
