Am not completely sure with the educated/uneducated argument, Andalusians speak very quickly full stop. I knew of a woman who studied Spanish ( Castillian, I suppose) at night school in England for around 6 years, then she moved to Competa and had considerable trouble understanding anything. You could argue that up in the mountains they fall under the 'uneducated' heading, but family of mine in Malaga (teachers, policemen etc.) speak in exactly the same way, ie: very fast! It's a bit slower when directed at me, but when you get a room full of them together I'm completely thrown. All educated people, I might add. I think from a foreigner's point of view, there is only so much you can learn and then you've just got to throw yourself in the deep. Speed aside, Spanish is one of the most easiest languages to learn IMO. See all items with this value
