Chile’s Spanish is Not as Hard to Understand as it is Made Out to be
Many travelers to Chile tend to get frustrated, as it is a different Spanish from the ones learned in school and other Spanish-speaking countries. Chileans have their own slang (for example, cachai?) and speak fast and with an accent. Their Spanish takes some time to get used to but it is not difficult to communicate with them as everybody says it is.
